Robson C Billy Whitney é um adolescente que desconfia que há algo de errado com os seus pais e sua irmã. Ele sente que não é amado pelos seus pais como a sua irmã é. Depois de escutar uma fita gravada por um amigo, que acaba morrendo em um acidente automobilístico, ele passa a investigar e percebe que tudo o que conhece seja uma mentira. O filme faz uma junção de filmes de adolescentes (tanto sendo um drama por não sentir amado, como uma típica comédia dessa fase) com um suspense que nos leva a um body horror. O roteiro é uma crítica social transformada em filme de horror, onde os ricos se sentem superiores ao resto da população, podendo sugar deles tudo o que pode. A crítica fica disfarçada na maior parte do filme, mas no terço final, ela é nítida. Aí o body horror explode com tudo, com a cena que pode embrulhar o estômago de muita gente. Enquanto nessa cena temos um bom trabalho de maquiagem e efeitos práticos, isso acaba prejudicando outra cena tão impactante quanto essa, porém fica risível, provavelmente por causa da melhoria das técnicas de efeitos visuais e o orçamento reduzido.
